Pot Roast....YUM!!!

[FYI I'm taking a break from my Tax Return, so i can eat. Before i end up like yesterday and don't eat anything til 11 p.m.]

Friday [April 23rd]

I made Pot Roast. And we love our pot roast. Especially since we don't eat it often. We live at the tip of Texas. It gets really hot. [and Friday was an extremely hot day] And plus pot roast takes 3 hrs + plus to cook. But lucky me i have Fridays off from school. And i was craving pot roast during the week, so it was decided!

And it turned out great. well according to my sister. [it was my best one ever] my brother-in-law Danny took some leftovers to his work, and he said people were just staring at it [it probably smelled good]

too bad no homemade biscuits :(

All work and no play makes Audrey.....cry???

So this past weekend I've been working on two projects. My System's Understanding Aid (SUA) for my Accounting Information Systems class and my Tax Return Project for my Individual Tax class. I was starting to switch back and forth between them. Until i got frustrated with my Tax Return, then i decided to just finish my SUA.

And ALAS i finished!!! with that project. It took a whole day but i finished. and it felt super good! Like i could do anything. Then....i started my Tax Return again. And that just killed my self esteem. Today i continued with it again. That's when i grew frustrated. and i guess i took it out on my sister. Who was going to help me but went to the mall. I started to cry. Because i just couldn't do it anymore. Then i realized its mine to do. I really hate my Professor. Unless i get a good grade...then maybe i will change my mind.

maybe.......

Smokey Dokie

My sisters cat, Smokey, is very low maintenance. Feed him....let him sleep...let him out....he's good. My dad got home today and started taking off his camper to his truck. When i hear him yelling "SMOKEY!!!" i went out to see what was going on. That's when i saw him crossing the street while a bird was flying around poking him [that was funny!]. So i yelled at him [thinking he might think I'm Jessica], and what do ya know he kept walking. So my dad suggested i get the cat food container and shake it. So i did. And Guess what!! He stopped looked at me, and ran towards me. LOL

Food = One Happy Cat.

"Going to the Chapel and We're gonna get married..."

ITS WEDDING DAY!!! (April 17, 2010)

I think up til the ceremony, i was more excited than Jessica. It was probably all nerves for her. The day started with us waking up early [once again] heading to Wal-Mart to get extra things we needed that day. Then off to McAllen, to Jac-Lins Flowers, to pick up Jessica & Danny's center piece. And let me tell you, IT WAS BIG!!! Seriously, Look [ok ok i didn't get a whole picture of the thing....]

we then started making sure everything was in it's place. And i was there snapping photos as usual :DNext stop: AVALON!!! For hair and make-up time! My sister came out BEAUTIMOUS!!! Don't believe me, take a look!!! It was off to Joana's house to get ready, of course everyone had a hard time finding it. It is kinda out-there. But luckily, my dad, The photographer, and the limo driver were able to find it. And leave it to Cedillo Girls to get ready at the last minute. I hope the photo's come out good. Especially the ones where jessica is getting ready. My sister is/was really pretty!

We finally arrived to Trinity Worship Center, on time!! YAY!!! taking photos as usual. And being dumb, can't wait to see those photos as well!!! [especially the whipping one/ that one was fun]I ended up speeding [yes, i admit it] to the Villa de Cortez, because i had some stuff that had to get done. It was the bridal party in the car!! WHOOT WHOOT! [the MOH (myself), B1, B2 & B3 (Joana, Annie & Victoria)]

The beginning started off slow [of course since people were barley showing up] And Christina being well....Christina was taking pictures. Oh who!!! Non-other than JACK!!

Yes, i know i didn't take alot of photos. But after all i was the MOH, i needed to be in some. Don't cha think. At the end of the day....it was a good day. :D

And now i have a new brother!!! So Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Danny [Cedillo].....i mean HILTON!!

Pre-Wedding Day!

April 16th. (The Friday before the Wedding)
Well the morning started off with a BANG....well not really....it started waking up early in the morning, after spending the whole night getting ready.I got up early enough to see an early morning snail.

SEE!!!

After that i was kinda running late for everything else. Except the fact that (the Bride to be) Jessica was early for work. I rushed over to Joana's house (one of the bridesmaid) to drop off the dress for the BIG DAY before she left to school. Of course knowing us, we got to talking, and that went over my time limit. I ended up arriving late to go pick up the linens, it was around 9:35 when i finally left to go home. And remind you, it takes about 30 minutes (give or take a few minutes) to get home. And i knew i still have to load the car with wedding stuff, and go pick up my Aunt Linda in Harlingen (which is 30 minutes away in the other direction). I was like a cartoon when i got home, just missing the funny sound effects. Lets just say I got there ok, except for the fact that it RAINED (and i had just washed the car the previous day) [insert sad face here].

Next stop: Villa de Cortez (the reception area) to set up. It turned out really pretty. With the help of my Mom and my Aunt Linda. And at the last minute [ALAS] the Royer Family & the Bride to be FINALLY showed up.

Finally LUNCH TIME!!! Of course my being sick, ruins everything! We went to this (no-name) Mexican place, and it looked delicious!! It was definitely on "The GO BACK" list. And plus, family with time with any family is the BOMB! (My mom, Jessica, Tia Linda, Tia Angie & Kori, Christina, Casey & Jack, and I)
The Rest of the Day was spent cleaning the house, getting ready for the Rehearsal, the actual rehearsal, and (YAY) the Rehearsal dinner, which consisted of Brisket, Potato Salad & Ranch Style beans. Talk about filing!

HACU Internship.

First i had applied for an internship with the GAO over there is Washington D.C., unfortunately i didn't get it. So i had given hope, thinking i was gonna be stuck here....forever. But an employee from Deloitte came to talk to my Tax class....i was intrigued...especially since he mentioned about him wanting to work with HACU (Hispanic Association of College and Universities), to get more people working and in their particular fields. So i went to HACU's website, and what do you know! i found that they were still taking applications for Summer 2010. So i quickly jumped on board. And then it was time to wait....and wait....wait...Again with the waiting....WILL IT NEVER END!!!

On March 29th, i received a phone call from a representative in Maine who wanted to schedule an Interview with me, regarding my application with HACU.

Augusta, Maine

OMG! it was finally happening. A couple days past and another call came! This time from Kansas City, also wanting to schedule an interview.

Kansas City, Missouri

If the time came, I'm not sure which one i would decide. About two days ago, another call came, from Detroit!! However, they weren't asking for an interview, they were offering me the internship! just like that.

Detroit, Michigan

Now there is a city! And a plus, its closer to my old sister, Christina, and her family. Of course i will be away from my sister, Jessica, and my dad. But isn't that what growing up means. To become your own person. I'm excited for the possibilities. I can't wait. I'm jumping in my seat...well not literally...because then people will give me that look i give people when they do something weird. LOL.

Hint: I think I'm leaning more to going to Detroit. I hope everything works out! :D Wish me LUCK! Oh yeah! All the internships are with the Department of Veterans Affairs. (of course in their Accounting department, I KNEW THERE WAS MORE than just become a CPA!) :D

My 20th Birthday!

March 29th

Now only 365 days til 21!!! LOL
Ok so the morning got off to a rough start, but overall i would say that day was a good day.

(1) Everyone remembered my Birthday.....trust me i had days where only my family and a couple of friends remembered.

(2) I was totally on a roll with my 22 TAX problems (due the next day)

(3) At 10:30 a.m. i received a call. A number i didn't recognize. So obviously i didn't answer. But they left a voicemail, so of course i heard it. I had to hear it twice just to make sure i was hearing it right. It was from the Department of VA, in Washington D.C., calling to schedule an interview. OMG!!! i was super excited after that! Thank you HACU!!! (an internship).

(4) My Marketing class (the most boring class ever!!) was cancelled.

(5) I ran into my good friend, Jeanette, and got to catch up. It was nice.

(6) AIS was like a free-day. Just mimic the professor on Access.

(7) My Sister & Bubba bought me a Cake, from (NOW) my favorite bakery, Sweet & Tasty.
(8) The family went to Chili's for dinner.

(9) I received another birthday present, SALLY!!!

(10) Jessica & Danny's Engagement photos finally uploaded!!! Nice to see them again. :D

Like i said, overall it was a good thing. Nothing Major.....but it was the little things that counted :D
